Published on: 22 May 2007
Fareham based top 10 independent business recovery firm, Portland are congratulating Case Manager, Nicola Layland on becoming fully qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
Nicola has passed her exams after 3 1/2 years of dedicated study, complemented by the practical experience gained from working at Portland, the south coast's largest independent business recovery firm. She graduated from Manchester University in July 2003 with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, specialising in corporate finance, before joining Portland.
Nicola works within a small team on client cases, as well as dealing with the day-to-day running of the office. Working closely with Director, James Tickell, she aims to become an Insolvency Practitioner and will shortly begin studying for her JIEB (Joint Insolvency Examination Board).
Away from the office Nicola has recently taken up golfing and hopes to improve enough to participate in the annual Portland Golf Day in September. She also enjoys balancing an active social life with her studies.
Portland has also recently appointed three new trainee administrators, Sophie Peters, Chloe Edges and Emily Jones. Sophie is working closely with Director Steve Goodwin and Manager Sandy Williams primarily on liquidations. Chloe is assisting Managing Director Carl Faulds with similar cases and Emily supports Director James Tickell. All three are looking forward to commencing study with the Association of Accounting Technicians in September, with a view to becoming fully qualified administrators.
