Portland Takes Pole Position

The reputation of unrivalled expertise has helped Portland Business & Financial Solutions secure pole position as the top financial business recovery experts on the South Coast.
Spearheaded by the Whiteley office, Portland saw a huge 41% increase in the number of business recovery appointments handled last year. The growth ensured Portland remained as the area's leading independent business recovery firm according to statistics extracted from insolvency appointments advertised in the London Gazette.
This was achieved despite there being only a 10% increase in insolvencies in the South over the same period in terms of the numbers of appointments; indeed, the national figure was closer to 1%!
Portland handled 130 administrations, insolvent and solvent liquidations in 2006 compared to 92 the year before. It also outstripped the competition by a significant margin with its nearest competitor dealing with only 87 cases compared to Portland's 130.
Carl Faulds, Managing Director, says: 'Underlying that growth is the increase in the size and quality of our typical case, with an increased proportion of more complex administration assignments, where the specific intention is to rescue the company . We can claim with confidence that we can competently handle any size and type of local business recovery assignment from our offices in Fareham and Poole.'
